Denon's DL103 is one of the best selling phono cartridges of all time, having been in nearly continuous production since the early 1960's. It has seen several variants, but the black-bodied "DL103" with conical stylus shape and 2.5 gram tracking force, has remained constant.

This cartridge is well-reviewed and considered to have outstanding performance for the price point. Many owners have their DL103 re-tipped when its' stylus becomes worn. Many also denude and refit their DL103 into different bodies, made from exotic hardwoods, aluminum, and other materials.

The output of this moving coil is 0.3mV, so a step-up transformer or high-gain preamplifier is needed.
